Co-founder & Director

My journey into experiential education began at SECMOL, an alternative school in Ladakh, where I found myself as a student in 2010. It was there that I truly understood the value of hands-on learning.

Post-college, I had the honor of being a Young India Fellow at Ashoka University, earning a postgraduate diploma in Liberal Arts. This experience was followed by the Mother Teresa Fellowship, which deepened my understanding of the social impact sector and equipped me with the skills to navigate the rewarding complexities of a career in social entrepreneurship. Returning to Ladakh, I joined the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL) and I got involved in designing and leading experiential learning programs.

Beyond my professional commitment, I am a member of the Indian Men’s Ice Hockey team and coach the sport throughout Ladakh in winter. In 2023, I established the Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh and hosted “The Last Run”, the highest frozen lake marathon in the world, to raise awareness about climate change and the melting himalayan glaciers.

Growing up in a nomadic village with limited access to educational resources and comparatively lesser influence of modern amenities

It has familiarized me to tradition and lifestyle of my community and built a strong sense of belonging and as I traveled across India and outside for work and education it exposed me a different world that has so much learning and opportunities to offers.

The transformative education I received at SECMOL, the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University, and my tenure at HEALTH Inc. ignited a passion to extend such enriching experiences to the children of Ladakh’s remote villages. With Ladakh Education Habitat, our mission is to cultivate a nurturing educational environment within rural schools and communities and expose them to a different field of studies and career opportunities.
